"Babs" Hindsight

Sir,
It was interesting seeing you having a ride in Owen Wyn-Owen’s magnificently-restored “Babs”, as depicted in the February 1975 issue of Motor Sport.

With the benefit of hindsight, I find it even more interesting to quote something which you wrote in the June 1968 issue (page 485): “I do not share Mr. Owen’s optimism that Babs’ could be made to run again, unless a very large sum of money was spent, and not necessarily then. Wheels would have to be made, tyres obtained, and where can Liberty engine parts be found, or a replacement for the driving chain that decapitated Thomas ?”

Mr. Owen is certainly to be congratulated on his restoring skills! Many thanks for Motor Sport.

[Congratulations indeed! I had not foreseen the help given by the Industry and Liberty parts from the USA.—Ed.]
