The VSCC at Silverstone

THE VSCC will open its 1977 racing season with the customary Silverstone Meeting on April 16th. Racing over the 1.6-mile Club circuit will commence at approx. 13.30 hours, and will feature the 40-minute High Speed Trial, the Itala and Napier Trophies’ 10-lap Scratch Race for Edwardian and vintage racing cars, and the 15-lap Historic Racing Cars’ Scratch Race. These now-legendary races will be supplemented by a number of 5-lap scratch and handicap races.

Practice starts at 9.00 hours; entries have closed. Once again all the variety and pre-war atmosphere will be unleashed and anyone who likes the older way of motoring life but has never treated himself or herself to a vintage-Silverstone should make every effort to do so. Motor Sport is again awarding it’s Brooklands Memorial Trophy and cash prizes totalling £150 for the best points’ scores by pre-war cars at this and the other VSCC 1977 race meetings. Admission charges: £1.30 each for circuit and grandstands, 50p extra for a Paddock transfer; children under 14 20p each for admission, 20p for the Paddock transfer. Silverstone is near Towcester on the A5.
