Poor public relations

Sir,
I would like to voice my disappointment in the attitude taken in the respect of public relations by some of the Formula One teams.

My daughter Sarah, aged 13, wrote to a lot of the teams in April 1988 enclosing photographs of their drivers for their autographs. She wrote to every team except March, Tyrrell, Zakspeed, EuroBrun, Coloni, Rial, Osella and Dallara — a total of 10 teams. To date she has only received a reply from Williams, McLaren and Lotus. She was very disappointed in the lack of response from the majority of teams, and if any of them were to see this letter perhaps it would goad them into action. I realise that a 13-year-old girl is not unimportant to their image as giving information to the Press, but her feelings are more easily hurt. My daughter would be grateful if other teams would send her photographs duly signed.
