I am completing a book covering my ten years with Lotus (1963-71 & 1977-80). This is provisionally entitled “The Lighter Side of Lotus” and reflects the enormous amount of humour that lurked behind the serious endeavours in the world of commerce and motor racing during those exciting years with Colin Chapman firmly in control.
If any of your readers have clear recollections of amusing dealings or meetings with Lotus or their dealers at that time I would be very pleased to hear from them. All letters will be acknowledged.
I would like to get in touch with the man who lost his contact lenses whilst a passenger at 100 mph on the A1 in our demonstration Lotus Super 7, or the three people who bought “the show car” at Earls Court in 1964!
