Oh Clive!

As one who is aware of the clangers he makes, journalistic and otherwise, I was nevertheless sorry to find, after his description of the enormous research done for the BBC TV programme Fame in the 20th Century, that in the follow up BBC book of that title by Clive James, Segrave is printed as ‘Seagrave’. It is a common error, which I noticed years ago on the plaque on the ‘Golden Arrow’ when Castrol had presented this famous LSR car to the NMM. But no doubt that has long since been corrected? Of all the famous people whom Clive James puts in their places in his book, the only racing drivers he mentions are Segrave and Campbell.
