50 years of low-cost series

The 750 Motor Club will mark the 50th anniversary of the 1172 Formula during its two-day Silverstone race meeting at the end of August.

Although finally discontinued three years ago after several name changes, the low-cost Ford-engined formula encouraged mechanical ingenuity, and in its heyday was responsible for highlighting the talents of constructors like Eric Broadley and Arthur Mallock.
