Conway is latest Brit to join IRL grid

Ex-British Formula 3 Champion Mike Conway is aiming to emulate the success of Dan Wheldon and Dario Franchitti in the IRL Indycar Series.

Conway (left), who has raced in GP2 for the past two years, has made the switch with the Dreyer & Reinbold Racing squad. The move follows a successful test at Sears Point last summer with the Panther team.

Conway, who was due to try the Dreyer & Reinbold Dallara-Honda for the first time at Homestead in February, said: “I’ll be visiting a lot of tracks for the first time, especially ovals, but I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
