The “biggest and best” collection of Ayrton Senna racing cars ever assembled is the ambitious target set by the Silverstone Festival, which will celebrate the life of the great Brazilian at its 2024 edition on August 23-25.

The Senna family has given its full blessing for the occasion, in a big anniversary year for the three-time world champion, coming 30 years since his tragic death at Imola.

“He always had a strong connection with Silverstone,” said Bianca Senna, Ayrton’s niece and CEO of Senna Brands. “His history in motor sport includes memorable victories at this circuit, and he raced for British teams. It is definitely a tribute that will move fans worldwide.”

The Senna connection is genuine. He racked up more victories at the track than at any other in his single-seater career, even if he only won the British GP once, in 1988. Senna first competed at Silverstone in 1981 in FF1600. He became embroiled in a duel for the lead, only missing out on a debut victory when Rick Morris bounced over the Woodcote chicane on the final lap to steal victory.

But in 1982 Senna won all three of his FF2000 races at Silverstone and the next season scored six of his 12 British F3 wins at the circuit en route to the crown.
