MOTOR ROAD RACES IN ENGLAND.

The Motor Races Bill, which has already been read a first time in the Commons, was presented on Wednesday, 27th May, by Lord Montagu of Beaulieu in the House of Lords. It is promoted by the Royal Automobile Club, and seeks to obtain powers for the running of motor car and cycle races in this country. England is the only country at present where road racing is not permitted, and this is felt to be a handicap on British industry in competing with Continental countries. Adequate provisions are contained in the Bill for the protection and safety of the public.
