A 100 m.p.h. German Highway.
ANEW arterial road, connecting the cities of Cologne and Bonn, has just been completed in Germany. Designed as an express road for high speed traffic, there is not a single crossing throughout its entire length. Nothing is allowed to impede the traffic stream, and cars are forbidden to halt on the main road. All filling stations are set back from the road on short loopways running parallel to the main road. The road is wide enough for four streams of traffic, and is built of ordinary tar-macadam.
