ACCIDENTS IN THE CZECH 0-SLOVAKIAN ” MILLE MIGLIA “

On June t5th-16th the A.C. of CzechoSlovakia ran its t,000 miles stock-car race for the third successive year. There were 55 starters and 24 finishers. Fastest time was made by the well-known Czech driver, Kubicek, on a Bugatti, who averaged 6t m.p.h. There were two bad accidents. In the first a driver named Kriska was killed at the wheel of a Walter, and in the second Turek and Mme. Slarik were

gravely injured when their car overturned.

The route was split up into four stages, but drivers only had their books stamped at Bratislava and Prague and immediately set off again. The road was guarded while the race was on, but not closed, except on the Prague-Kolin autostrada, so kilometres in length. The start was an impressive sight, the 54 cars being placed in single file and starting simultaneously.
