Log Books

Sir,

Further to Mr. M. G. Turvill’s letter of July, I had a different experience with Maidstone. At the beginning of June, I sent all my documents to County Hall, Maidstone, to tax my 1958 MG-A for four months—I also sent a note asking if the log book could be returned to me if one of the new-style documents was to be issued.

In due course, I received my tax disc and the log book—also enclosed was the original log book that was in the Council’s possession at the time of application.

Was Mr. Turvill just unlucky or was I lucky enough to have my application handled by somebody who appreciates classic cars?
