Miniatures news, August 1978

The latest Classic Car offerings from the respected model-car house of Grand Prix Models of Radlett, Herts., are a very mouth-watering low-chassis 4 1/2-litre 100 MPH Invicta and a most attractive 1935 Ulster Aston Martin, the latter based on the actual car CMC 614 which ran at Le Mans and in the Milk Miglia, and which returned to Brooklands at the VSCC Meeting there this year. The full history of the car, now owned by Derrick Edwards, comes with the kit or model and this is nearly as interesting! Both models are fully-detailed, the lnvicta with the typical bonnet and side-apron louvres, cycle front wings as high as the top of its shapely radiator, slab fuel tank, spare wheel and hood etc., the Aston Martin with outside “Brooklands” exhaust system, filler-caps, aero-screens, remote gear lever, sprung steering wheel, etc. Two more irresistible GP Models’ miniatures! -W.B.
