V-to-C Miscellany, August 1994, August 1994

A few errors crept in last month, but we don’t mind owning up. The 1926 Victory Cup Trial text correctly mentioned that Taylor drove his Bugatti in the event, not that he won it, as the caption inferred. And the Sunbeam Crusader aero-engine used by Coatalen was rated at 150 hp, not 50. . .

The Hants & Berks MC holds its ingenious ‘On the Beaches’ classic car run, with D-day connotations, on August 21, over a route from Woodley aerodrome to Eastney Beach, Portsmouth. It returns via Southwick, with sightseeing en route. Details from Pam Roper, 33 St Pauls Gate, Wokingham, Berks RG11 2YP (0734 787684).

Bikists may like to note that the 32nd Graham Walker Run takes place at Beaulieu on August 21.

The Daimler & Lanchester DC’s Southern Rally weekend, based on Bognor Regis, is scheduled for August 20/21.

Over 300 vintage vehicles are forecast for the Lancashire Vintage & Country Fayre on September 3/4, at St Michaels-on-Wyre (A586). Proceeds to local charities. The Preston & DCC’s road rally finishes there on the Sunday.
