Obituary

Jim Bullough

This former rallying champion died after a short illness at the beginning of June.

In 1966 Jim Bullough teamed up with navigator Don Barrow in a Lotus Cortina Mkl and the following year they won the BTRDA Gold Star, Motoring News and RAC Rally championships.

As reward for his British title Bullough got one of the first Escort Twin-Cams for ’68. This was a period when British rallying was moving from road to stage rallies and Bullough showed that he was part of that change by finishing third on the RAC Rally that year, thus helping Ford to win the European manufacturers title. Always neatly dressed and self-effacing, Bullough won the BTRDA and MN  titles again in 1970 before retiring  — JDFD
