Street racing in Spain

International racing returns to the Spanish streets on July 16/17 when the World Series by Renault competes in the Basque city of Bilbao, 30 years after the Spanish GP was last run at the Montjuich Park track in Barcelona. World Series promoter RPM has been working hard on the Bilbao event, and the tight circuit includes a crossover as well as a trip over a river bridge. When you consider that the World Series Dallara chassis are powered by 450bhp engines, and that this series has Europe’s worst driver disciplinary record of 2005, you’d be forgiven for expecting a few shunts.
