Important news is to hand that the new International 0.P. Formula has been modified, in that the bodywork dimensions have been abandoned. The larger cars will still have an advantage, because there has, at least, to be Sufficient width to accommodate a driver on even the smallest chassis, so that a sliding scale of minimum widths would have been more acceptable, but as it is this alteration is an improvement. Those running sports-type cars will doubtless get busy on proper racing bodies.

The head of Fiat’s bas contributed 1,000,000 lire to a fund for building racing-cars, as Fiat’s will not race themselves. Trossi, Marazza and Rocco will drive the official Maseratis ; 3-litre cars with eight cylinders in separate blocks of four and twin blowers, and the existing 1Hitre six-cylinder jobs with modified engines and more stable rear suspension. Ferrari will nominate Villoresi. Farina and Tadini to drive their new mystery cars. E.R.A. will .concentrate on 2 and

2i-litre six-cylinder cars, and are experimenting with new frames of both fully independent suspension and solid rearaxle types. Improved front independent suspension and. Elektron clutch and axlecasings are in hand and new low and very narrow bodies will be used. These cars are both down to the permissible limits of 657 and 753 kg. The rumoured 3-litre will probably be a twelve-cylinder and is not expected until later.

The V12 Delahayes are using three double-unit carburetters.
