Letters from Readers, February 1942
Sir, MOTOR SPORT is the only paper which I really look forward to reading now. Many thanks for supplying such excellent literature on the greatest of all sports. I have…
NOT A MARPLES’ FAN!
Sir, like thousands of other ordinary motorists, regard Mr. Marples’ latest idea, i.e., of tests for one-year-old cars, as a monstrous imposition on the public, and a slur on the Motor Car Industry as a whole.
His recent activities in London, more especially in the West End, have left it like a small racing circuit.
I feel that something should be done whilst this new suggestion is still in embryo form. What does Mr. Marples know about cars anyway ? He goes everywhere on a push-bike!
