Headlamps
Sir,
A good headlamp enables a driver to sec without creating undue glare for other road users. An acceptable performance can only be achieved by high standards of design and manufacture of the headlamp mirror, the front lens and the bulb. Fitting non-standard bulbs in existing headlamps is a procedure fraught with problems. It can be done satisfactorily if the conversion kit has been produced with the co-operation of the headlamp manufacturer.
the bulb shown in the Brown, Geeson advertisement on page 1217 of your October Issue has the whole filament assembly upside down. If’ it fits into headlamps in the manner shown in the illustration, the result will be catastrophic. Your readers should be warned.
