Rally crews put to the test

Star names in the world of historic navigational rallying are due to compete in the eighth running of the Rally of the Tests, which sets off from Bournemouth on November 20.

The four-day route takes crews up through the Welsh borders to a Sunday finish in Llandudno, via overnight halts in Taunton and Stoke-on-Trent. The route will take in a mix of regularity sections and special tests.

Paul Wignall, the winner in 2007, will return in his Alfa Romeo Giulietta, this time with veteran co-driver Nigel Raeburn. The 80-car field includes 11 Triumph TR3s/4As and six Porsche 911s.
