Lotus in a good position

Lotus technical director Mike Gascoyne insists that the new team is on schedule with its preparations for 2010, despite the late confirmation of its Formula 1 entry by the FIA.

The new outfit, to be known as Lotus F1 Racing, will initially be based at the former Bentley facility at RTN in Norfolk. The team has unveiled a wind tunnel model of its car and aero development is being undertaken at the FondTech wind tunnel in Italy, which in recent years has been used by Force India.

Jarno Trulli’s name continues to be linked with the team, although the Italian denies that his long friendship with Gascoyne will guarantee his participation.
