McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown is on the stand at the £15.5m court case between his team and four-time IndyCar champion Álex Palou, seen with hand pensively on chin while Motor Sport’s journalists Dominic Tobin and James Elson can be seen at the bottom right of the scene.
The claim is that Palou’s decision to stay at Chip Ganassi in 2024 and renege on his McLaren contract cost the team millions in lost revenue but the Spanish driver believes the figures are inflated. Palou then won the 2024 and 2025 IndyCar titles as well as this year’s Indianapolis 500. The case continues and could have consequences for driver contracts in the future.
