THE DEATH OF MR. LOCKE.KING.
We regret to announce the death of Mr. Locke-King, the founder of the Brooktands racing track. Though Mr. Locke-King never raced. he was the father of track racing In this country. Some twenty years ago Mr. Locke-King witnessed a race in Sicily and noticed that no British cars were competing owing to the lack of
suitable facilities in this country He thereupon conceived the idea of building a race track to aid the British motoring Industry and built the famous course at Weybridge at his own expense on his own land. British motoring owes a tremendous debt to Mr. Locke-King and all our readers will regret the loss of one who did so much to encourage sport In this country.
