Cars and parts

In Kuala Lumpur a hybrid Alfa Romeo with 2.3-litre engine in a 1938-type 3-litre chassis with Farina saloon body is rotting in a scrap-yard, and it appears to belong to an R.A.F. officer who bought it three years ago and never had it shipped home; our informant, who quotes the number as SB 871, hopes the owner will get in touch with him and allow it to be saved. A late-type S.S.1 with shooting-brake body seems to have been abandoned at the side of A 30 near London Airport, and a 1922 Raleigh motorcycle, lightly used since new, lives in a farmhouse kitchen in Devon but is not for sale. We know of a boa-constrictor horn for sale, and have heard of a 1925 11.6-h.p. Standard Kenilworth tourer needing some renovation and a 1925 13.9-11.p. Standard Warwick, now with van body, both for sale, respectively in Derbyshire and the Manchester area. There is also a 1928 Rover in West Cornwall and a 1925 Dodge landaulette in Exeter, both derelict. A generally sound 1930 Humber Sixteen Six tourer is desperately in need of a home and may be scrapped within a few days. Letters can be forwarded.
