Mystery Model

Sir,

You might publish the enclosed in the hope that someone may come forward with details of the history of this model of the “First 100 in hour” Talbot. This little car came to me for repair some years ago, and I bought it instead.

I was told at the time that it was purchased by a chap who claimed it was with the wind-tunnel model(s) of M. Campbell’s “Blue Bird,” which he said he bought at the time Campbell’s effects were sold. But I understand the “Blue Bird” model(s) went to the City Museum in Birmingham.

The model Talbot is in metal and was roughly painted dark blue; I cleaned this off and the actual surface appears to be plated. A name-plate is fixed to the underside, but a letter to this address remained unanswered: Roger Bros., Farnham Royal, Slough. The car is 11 in. long and with reasonable detail.

HAROLD PRATLEY.
