“The Shell Nature Book”
135 pp. 11-1/5 in. x 8-1/8 in. (Phoenix House Ltd., 10-13, Bedford Street, Strand, London, W.C. 2. 30s.)
This is a high-quality book about flowers, trees and shrubs, birds and beasts, fossils, insects and reptiles, and wild life generally. Illustrated by superb colour-plates, it could hardly have been published at 30s. without the sponsorship of Shell. Most of the chapters are divided into the months of the year, and identification of the subjects is made easy by keys to the big colour pictures. A splendid gift book, and a year-long companion for open-air motorists.— W. B.
