Insurance matters

Sir,

I was most interested to read the letter “Insurance Tips” from Mr. Paul Ward on Page 69 of your January 1978 issue. Mr. Ward makes the point “The General Accident have a scheme whereby, for a mere kz extra, one can split the premium into five monthly instalments, payable by Bankers’ Order.”

I thought your readers might be interested to know that for personal insurances such as Motor insurance, this simple “premium by instalments” scheme costs only £1 (not ,£2) for the paperwork regardless of the size of the premium.

Your readers may also be interested to know that nearly 100,000 General Accident policy holders used this system to pay their premiums during 1977.
