Low mileage

An advertiser’s query in last month’s issue as to whether or not his 1959 Morris Minor 1000, with 6,700 miles on its odometer from new, was the lowest mileage example extant, has been answered by a Cheshire reader whose 1000 has a bare 311 miles registered.

This reader bought the car new in July 1961, since when it has spent practically all its life in a dry garage, for complicated reasons which he does not reveal. It has all its original equipment, including tyres, was double-undersealed before delivery and has never been wet.

A future museum piece, we would hope and no, we won’t reveal the reader’s name, nor forward letters! – C. R.
