S.C.H. "Sammy" Davis

Sammy Davis died of a heart attack on January 9th, a day before his 94th birthday, as fire swept through his Guildford home. Sammy was one of motoring’s great all-rounders, equally at home at Brooklands, at Le Mans, on a trials hill or en route for Monte Carlo. He was also a talented illustrator and painter as well as a motoring writer. A full appreciation of Sammy’s contribution to motoring sport will appear next month.
