For those who either missed BBC Grandstand’s rally challenge, or for those who wish to have a permanent record of the event, this lengthy video is the answer. With the familiar voice of Steve Ryder providing the informative commentary, we see the likes of Stig Blomqvist, Pentti Airikkala, Malcolm Wilson, Louise AitkenWalker, Mark Lovell and Russell Brookes contest five different stages in five different cars. Because the event was a television “special” the coverage is excellent both from in-car as well as from the outside. As a finale we are taken over the five stages as a back seat passenger with only the pace notes being read out by the co-driver providing any sort of commentary. Just watching, it is difficult to keep pace, let alone doing the driving as well. Excellent value. WPK
