Strike three

Sir,

I have just finished reading the Can-Am articles in the December Motor Sport and I must congratulate you on another fine issue. I attended the Can-Am races at Watkins Glen in the early ’70s, and the issue brought back many memories. There is one omission I’d like to point out, though.

John Surtees’ 1968 season was left out of his career totals chart. He started three races that year, bringing his Can-Am starts to 23. Unfortunately, the Lola T-160TS he campaigned in those races was not up to the task, and he scored no poles or points.

A minor point in what otherwise is a fine series of articles.
