New ERA

An earlier eligibility date for the Le Mans Legends race on the morning of the modern 24-hour event on June 16 will bring even wider grids.

The era is now 1956-68, which, points out Motor Racing Legends Chairman Duncan Wiltshire, will cover the two Ecurie Ecosse wins in D-types as well as Aston’s 1959 DBR1 victory. While some entries will reflect the Ford and Ferrari battles of the ’60s, the new date should bring even more variety.

“The period we’ve chosen covers the great Ferrari era at Le Mans,” says Wiltshire.
