Silverstone Classic changes

July 7, 2014

There will be new organisers behind the Silverstone Classic for 2009 following confirmation that this year’s event will be managed by Racing at Silverstone Ltd, a new company created by the backers of the ’08 event. As already announced, the 2009 Silverstone Classic will run from July 24-26.

The 2008 event was managed by Motion Works, but it now seems that Roger Etcell’s company will not be involved in ’09.

“The 2009 Silverstone Classic is very much on track and we are confident about the future growth and development of the event,” said Ken Prichard Jones of Racing at Silverstone Ltd. “The race content is currently being finalised and will be announced shortly.”

The 2009 event is widely expected to have significant involvement from the Masters Racing Series categories, while the race organising task may well remain in the hands of the Historic Sports Car Club.
