Rally show will celebrate WRC

The cars and drivers that have dominated the first 30 years of the World Rally Championship will be celebrated during the Chatsworth Rally Show at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire over the weekend of June 6/7.

“We hope to have as many past World Champions as possible alongside their cars and, where we can, to have them demonstrate their skills on the special stages,” said event organiser Malcolm Neill.

A special display area will mark the first WRC season of 1979, when Björn Waldegård took the drivers’ title – primarily in his Ford Escort RS1800 (pictured).

Changes to the venue layout for 2009’s event have been designed to further improve spectator viewing.
