Drink, dance... and marathon training

British Racing Drivers’ Club members who are planning to run this year’s London Marathon met for some socialising and training on December 5-6.

Some 30 members of the BRDC Marathon Legends group enjoyed a champagne reception and dinner in the spectacular glass atrium at the Grange hotel in central London. There were after-dinner speeches and an awards ceremony where each ‘winner’ received a tequila shot. Sports car ace Darren Turner seemed to have won the most… With the evening in full swing the group then headed to the Movida night club to dance the night away.

The following morning the slightly worse for wear runners arrived at Hyde Park for their first training session. The Marathon Legends group is taking part in the event to raise money for children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent. To make a donation log on to www.justgiving.com/BRDC-marathon-legends.
