One for the Bond!

Sir,

The letter of the vintage enthusiast who signs himself “CV 1860” was of considerable interest to me. He wonders what progress has been made and compares his vintage MG with your staff Plus Four.

I belong to the ultra-light motoring brigade and own a Bend Minicar which has been well and truly thrashed over more than 24,000 miles in the last 14 months. “CV 1860” did 100 miles in 3 hours 10 minutes recently. While appreciating that he probably met considerable London traffic, my own little Bond will put 100 miles into three hours on most occasions. Several times 260 miles have been covered in eight hours all on under three gallons of petrol.

The point about this letter is to attempt to show that some progress has been made when a 1950 2-hp car can achieve similar results to a 1930 8-hp car and at an economy that hardly bears comparison.

I am, Yours. etc.,

MG Bow. High Wyeombe.
