New Museum

A proposal has been made for the rebuilding of the Museum of Science and Industry in Newhall Street, Birmingham. A number of veteran and vintage cars are housed in the old buildings, as well as such cars as John Cobb’s Land Speed Record car and a number of traction engines which can be seen working from time to time. The first phase of the rebuilding will take the form of a Locomotive Hall in which will be housed aircraft, traction engines, locomotives, cars and heavy machine tools. The Newhall Street building is open from 10.30a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, and 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. on Sundays.
