I am tracing the history of an MG Magnette, chassis K2001, registration MG2191, colour red.
The Magnette was delivered to University Motors Ltd, on 6 March 1933. The first owner was a Mr R P Slade of Hanover Street (or perhaps Square), in London WI.
The second owner was a Mr H J Searle living at 24 Rodway Road, Bromley, Kent, who competed in the 1934 Royal Scottish Automobile Club Rally.
There is a gap in its history until it turned up in Holland in 1949 being raced by Jaap Zwart.
The car was re-registered in England on 28 August 1951 with registration RPK637. Then there is a further gap until 1958 when the colour was changed to green. I have the history thereafter.
Will the K2 owner who rang me with information regarding Druce’s Garage please contact me again on 01429 263551. And if anyone has any further details, I’d be delighted to hear from them.
I AM, YOURS ETC,
