1902 Panhard et Levassor takes the honours

The 2007 London to Brighton Veteran Car Run attracted the second-largest entry of pre-1905 cars in its 111-year history, the largest being in 1996 for its Centenary Run. The field included 106 overseas entries, with 23 nations represented.

The weekend started on November 2 with the LBVCR auction at Bonhams and then on Sunday November 4 the oldest car present, a 1985 Peugeot, led the cars away from Hyde Park. The first car to reach Brighton and cross the finish line on Madeira Drive was a 1902 Panhard et Levassor which completed the 60-mile run in just over three hours. The 2008 edition will take place on Sunday November 2, with the auction on Friday October 31. For more details see www.lbvcr.com.
