Peterson's Tecno to race again

July 7, 2014

The 1-litre Formula 3 Tecno owned and raced in period by Ronnie Peterson is due to return to the track in 2009 in the hands of veteran pilot Peter St Barbe.

The chassis is thought to be the one used by Peterson to win the 1968 Swedish F3 title. It was then used in Britain the following season, while his 1969 chassis was run in international races.

Later raced by David Andrews of Lucas, the Tecno was owned by Hall and Hall for a decade and raced by Rob Hall up to 1993.

It has not been driven in anger for 15 years, but St Barbe now intends to contest Classic 1-litre F3 events.

He has organised, competed in and marshalled on scores of events, and has written about the subject for 20 years. He is as at home in the paddock at Brands Hatch as in a Welsh forest or at Shelsley Walsh.
