RM Auctions’ second ‘Automobiles of London’ classic car sale landed on Battersea Park again and kicked off with a soirée on the eve of the sale, held in association with Sotheby’s.
The theme of the party was The Avengers, and guests were given bowler hats and red carnations on arrival. They tucked into canapés and drank champagne and cocktails while admiring the classic cars on display, and were entertained by dancers in 1960s-style chequered flag dresses.
DJ Chris Evans told me during the evening that he was planning to change the colour of his ex-James Coburn 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder. Let’s hope he doesn’t live to regret it!
