Mini-series planned for pre-63 cars

July 7, 2014

The Pre-63 GT initiative is set to grow into a three-race mini-series in 2010 following the success of the race held at the 2009 Silverstone Classic. Dates at Monza and Dijon in June are likely to be added to the Silverstone date to provide three races of up to an hour’s duration.

“The whole idea of this series is to bring cars back to their pre-1963 specification and race them as they were raced in period,” said organiser Carol Spagg. “We will always strive to have the most original cars, and we are seeking owners and drivers who share that philosophy.”

Paul Lawrence

Here is a man who goes racing every weekend from March to October. Paul’s passion for the sport goes back to when he was a child of the 1960s. He has organised, competed in and marshalled on scores of events, and has written about the subject for 20 years. He is as at home in the paddock at Brands Hatch as in a Welsh forest or at Shelsley Walsh.
