More than 13,000 eager fans attended the big ‘Powered by Mercedes-Benz Live’ event at Brooklands in November to celebrate the company’s successful year in motor sport.
Formula 1 drivers both past and present were at the event including Lewis Hamilton – who entertained the crowd by doing donuts in a 2008 McLaren – Heikki Kovalainen, David Coulthard and Mika Häkkinen. New World Champion team Brawn GP was also present, with Ross Brawn on hand and former Honda F1 driver Anthony Davidson in one of the championship-winning cars.
But the day didn’t just belong to Formula 1, with DTM drivers Gary Paffett, Paul di Resta and Jamie Green giving passenger rides to excited Mercedes fans.
Following the event’s success Mercedes-Benz UK president Wilfried Steffen said he was keen to make the cars and drivers more accessible, with more days dedicated to the public. So expect to see a busier schedule at Mercedes-Benz World next year.
