Sarah Moore, the winner of this year’s Ginetta Junior Championship, has been nominated for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.
The 16-year-old had a stunning season in the British Touring Car support series with five wins, finishing 16 points ahead of second-placed Jake Cook. In doing so Moore became the first female champion of a series on the BTCC support bill.
“I can’t believe I’ve been nominated,” said the Yorkshire driver. “It’s great to be recognised outside the motor sport world.”
A panel, which includes BBC Sport’s Jake Humphrey, will pick three finalists on November 23 who will be invited to the live event on December 13.
