Women appeal

Sir,

I have been instructed by my committee to make this appeal to other motoring clubs for their support in presenting an official Protest to the RAC Motor Sports Association at the continuing rise of entry fees. We, as a club, feel very very strongly about this problem and the effect it is having on the ordinary club member who is being denied her/his racing due to the exorbitant entry fees being charged this year by some clubs and circuits.

We have prime examples of one large and respected club charging £20 for a well organised day’s racing, and another club charging £30. Along with an extra charge of £10 for a late entry bringing total entry fees to £40 for 15 minutes practice and a 10 lap race, it is no wonder that grids are so small, as the majority of people cannot afford these prices.

We would like to hear your views and would welcome your support before club racing is beyond the means of your members!
