What a funny comment from DSJ in his April letter that he is puzzled as to why a 20-year-old GT40 is worth more than a new MkV. In 20 years time will Motor Sport be writing about replicas, fakes and underhand practices if I want to race my 1987 MkV in, say, an HSCC race?
I intend to lay down a series of 25 Ferrari 250 GT lightweights (incorporating suitable “detail improvements”), with the permission of Ferrari, and enter them in HSCC races. So far Ferrari has not agreed, but given DSJ’s imprimatur perhaps they might!
