Wolseley Hornets

The Wolseley Hornet Special Club is arranging a display of these cars, to commemorate their winning the 1932 LCC Relay Race at Brooklands. Driven by FS Hutchens, B Wickens and E Erith, the team averaged 77.5 mph for this 270-mile outer-circuit race. The club also hopes to attract other makes which competed, and especially those which actually took part against the 11 Hornets. They are having problems over the Windsor and 1 1/2-litre GN. The cars are to do a special demonstration at Christie’s Historic Festival at Silverstone on July 25/26. If anyone has a suitable car, will they please contact Tim Bell, 35 Parc-y-Coed, Creigiau, Cardiff CF4 8LX (0222-891658); C-type MGs would be especially welcome and it is hoped that A7s will be represented, as the cars which lapped fastest in that race, at over 91 mph.
