“Driver Wanted: The National Motor Museum is currently appealing for the driving skills of an HGV licence holder. It has a 175,000-vehicle transporter on loan… but on occasions doesn’t have a driver available.” Reported by the Bournemouth Daily Echo. Hardly surprising?
Finally, I hope hundreds of you will buy the Paul Finn model of the 1955 Mille Miglia-winning 300SLR Mercedes-Benz, to help the very deserving BEN Benevolent Fund. But the picture advertising it is captioned “Moss and Jenkinson celebrate a famous victory” and shows them on a ramp as used for the finish of the better modern rallies. Not true of the Mille Miglia, unless the chap with his hands resting on the ramp wall at the start of the race had been there for ten hours without moving!
