Louis Vuitton Concours

This year’s Grand Prix for Best of Show at the Louis Vuitton concours at the Hurlingham Club in London fell to W Haines’ 1932 lsotta Fraschini 8B — a second victory for the dramatic Sedanca de Ville which was Top Car at Pebble Beach last year. Often used pre-war by the King of Denmark, it will now go to the Louis Vuitton Paris event on September 7/8. There were many awards, but in the two special classes for this year, the Anton Mosimann Trophy for pre1904 cars went to Tim Scott’s splendid Mercedes 60hp, while the Classic & Sportscar Trophy to commemorate 70 years of Maserati was presented to Hartmut Ibing’s 250F, one of a dramatic single-seater line-up which included the ex-Birkin 26M, the Ecurie Bleue 8CTF, and one of only two 1939 8CLs, the last grand gesture of the factory.
