Coulthard for festival

McLaren-Mercedes Formula One star David Coulthard is to take part in Goodwood’s Festival of Speed for the first time, although he is unlikely to drive the MP4/13 in which test driver Nick Heidfeld set quickest time on the course last June.

Coulthard is to pay a flying visit Saturday, June 19, between the Canadian and French GPs, and is expected to drive one of the Mercedes-Benz Museum’s historic Grand Prix cars, two of which are entered. As we closed for press, it seemed likely that Sauber Grand Prix driver Jean Alesi would also be coming to Lord March’s jamboree, hopefully driving a 1996 Ferrari 412.
